...Art is everywhere to me...

I have been in love with art since I was little, playing with different mediums as often as I could. At 10 years of age my mom enrolled me in an art class. It allowed me to create fun and funky projects. School was a challenge and I found that using art helped me problem solve and understand tasks clearer.

For my undergraduate degree I attended Wagner College (Staten Island, NY) to study art and psychology in 2004. I learned art essentials such as how to figure draw, use oils and acrylics, as well as some camera techniques like develop film and use a DSLR camera. Once I graduated College I went to C. W. Post, (Long Island, NY) to pursue art therapy. Art therapy is a collaboration of both art and psychology, geared for any population to help life's stressors, physical and emotional. I have used art and play therapy when interning with different demographics. I interned with the deaf/blind school in Long Island. This was a remarkable experience that led me to learn and develop my American Sign Language (ASL) skills.

In 2010 I graduated from the art therapy program, which then led me to see art in a different light. I was taught how to create anything with the simplist of objects found lying around the house. I also took an independent painting studio class that helped me develop my own unique style. I have been greatly influenced by Abstract and Expressionistic artists as well as some of my art professors. I am always searching to improve my skills and innovate, pushing the envelope if possible. I love capturing moments especially those that catch my eye. No matter where I look I see beauty and designs.  Art surrounds us in the rawest of moments and dullest scenes. It is all about perspective.

I enjoy taking adventures, capturing whatever I see and embracing them personally. I currently create art works for friends and family using oil pastels, camera as well as acrylic paints.  Art is an amazing tool that can help people connect and communicate.

Additionally, I am enomored by nature and all its found objects. I am currently experimenting with sketches in American Sign langauge.

This theme pops up in many of my art pieces. This interest has exteded to sculpture and instillation art so stay tuned future new projects.
